Reason, Why Internal combustion engine (ICE) are better than EVs (Electric vehicle)

There are several reasons why some people argue that combustion engines (ICEs) are better than electric vehicles (EVs). Here are some key points:

1. Longer Range and Faster Refueling

  • Gasoline and diesel vehicles typically offer longer ranges on a full tank than most EVs on a full charge.
  • Refueling an ICE vehicle takes a few minutes, whereas charging an EV can take anywhere from 30 minutes (fast charging) to several hours (home charging).

2. Lower Upfront Cost

  • ICE vehicles are generally cheaper to purchase than EVs, making them more accessible to a broader range of buyers.
  • EVs often require government subsidies to be competitive in price.

3. Widespread Infrastructure

  • Gas stations are readily available worldwide, while EV charging networks are still expanding.
  • Many regions, especially in developing countries, lack the infrastructure to support EVs properly.

4. No Range Anxiety

  • With an ICE vehicle, you don’t have to worry about finding a charging station or running out of battery in remote areas.
  • This makes ICEs more suitable for long road trips and rural areas.

5. Better Performance in Extreme Weather

  • EV batteries lose efficiency in cold weather, reducing range.
  • ICE vehicles are generally more reliable in extreme temperatures.

6. More Driving Enjoyment (for Enthusiasts)

  • Many car enthusiasts prefer the sound, feel, and mechanical engagement of a combustion engine.
  • Manual transmissions, exhaust sounds, and the sensation of shifting gears add to the driving experience.

7. No Battery Degradation Issues

  • EV batteries degrade over time, reducing range and requiring expensive replacements.
  • Gasoline and diesel engines can last hundreds of thousands of miles with proper maintenance.

8. More Established Repair and Maintenance Industry

  • Mechanics and repair shops are well-equipped to handle ICE vehicles, whereas EV repairs often require specialized knowledge.
  • Battery replacements and EV-specific repairs can be costly and complex.

9. Less Dependency on Rare Earth Metals

  • EV batteries require lithium, cobalt, and other rare materials, often sourced through environmentally and ethically questionable mining practices.
  • Gasoline and diesel vehicles rely on fossil fuels, but refining and distribution systems are well established.

10. Energy Grid Dependency

  • EVs depend on electricity, which in many places is still generated from fossil fuels, making them not entirely "green."
